Olivia & Dustin | Wedding

September 06, 2016  •  2 Comments

I have so much to say about this wedding, I don't even know where to start! Olivia is from Portugal and Dustin is from North Carolina. They met while Dustin was studying abroad at Olivia's university in the south of Portugal. Last November, Olivia moved to North Carolina, so she and Dustin could start their life together. She searched for other Portuguese people in the area, and that's how we found each other. The next thing I knew, I was photographing her wedding! Olivia's mom and cousins came from Portugal for this special event. Instead of wedding cake, the bride and groom served a Portuguese delicacy called Pasteis de Nata, which are little pastries filled with custard. The garter toss was also done the Portuguese way, which involves wedding guests bidding on whether the groom should pull the garter up or down. Everyone laughed at this funny custom, and they had a lot of fun participating. It was such a beautiful marriage of two cultures. Congratulations, Olivia and Dustin!
